At all Tejas Trails events, every finisher gets a commemorative medal to honor your achievement. We go out of our way to think of fun, unique, hand-made, meaningful awards.
Some are made of metal. Some wood. Some are painted by Phoenix Center Children. Some are bottle openers or wine stoppers. They're all fun & you WILL want to battle & fight to finish & earn one.
We always give belt buckles for 100km & 100 mile finishers, with special buckles for sub-24 hour 100 milers & Capt'n Karl's 60k series finishers.
You can always expect at least Top 3 male & Top 3 female to be awarded.
As events grow, we spread out awards to Top few Masters, top 5 overall, top 10 overall, then 10 year Age Group winners.
For USATF Championship races, awards are handed out in 5 year age group brackets as well as our usual Tejas Trails awards.
For the Tejas 250, Tejas 300, Tejas 400 & Capt'n Karl's Trail Series, there are special awards handed out uniquely for those accomplishments.
For anyone who completes 500, 1000, 1500 km or miles at the same event, we give away special fleeces for you to make others jealous.
We also love giving special awards out as we see fit, whether it be for someone who slowed down to help a straggler accomplish their goal, someone who we know went through the ringer to get their race done, whoever had the most crashes, or a mom who ran/picked flowers/caught bugs with their little daughter the whole 10km, who knows what...
Feel free to email - Chris@TejasTrails.com or Brad@TejasTrails.com if you want to know the definitive plan for overall awards for a specific race you are registered to attend. Like we mentioned earlier, this is a fluid system & may change as registration numbers increase closer to the event date.
