About Us

What’s in the name... most people first assume Tejas Trails just means “Texas Trails” because our races are in Texas. But there’s more to it than that. Tejas is the Spanish spelling of a Caddo word “taysha”, which means "friend" or "ally". Tejas Trails first stands for “friendly trails”, in the sense that from the very beginning, we have always tried to create a welcoming environment where people can try the trails for the first time and feel like they belong. Trail running is unlike any other activity out there, and our community is also unlike any other out there. We truly hope we get to enjoy them with you at one of our races soon.

Our Races

Our trail racing events offer distances from 5km to 100 miles and everything between. We have something for everyone: beginners, seasoned trail racers, runners, hikers, ruckers, short distance lovers, ultra runners, elite runners, and youth.

Not just wanting to race?

We fully recognize we could not (and would not want to) put on any of these events without your help. There are plenty of other ways to get involved with volunteering opportunities and sponsorships.
