The venue is called Colorado Bend State Park. Ok, heres how the camping works. Tejas Trails has resevered & paid for THE ENTIRE PARK. The 10$ Special Event Fee paid at registration includes parking, camping & extra park personnel/services. The campsites/areas are first come, first serve. This system is similar to Capt'n Karl's Trail Series @ Colorado Bend.
If you prefer a more secluded campsite, there are plenty of sites on the other side of the park. These campsites are all approx 10-15 minutes drive from the Start/Finish, maybe more with a lot of vehicles/traffic coming in on race morning. Remember, this is spring in Texas, a very desirable time to be in the woods. So arrive early, if you want to be near the Start/Finish. The park & campsites are reserved & paid for Friday & Saturday nights only! If you arrive earlier or stay later you will have to pay & reserve your accommodations independently through TPWD.
Also be aware, some of the Tejas Trails camping spots are right next to the race course, so you probably won't sleep much past the start of the event. However, this is where action is...fun to be close & support the race participants.
We also offer tent rental service which includes set up & tear down, so you can focus on the race & enjoying time with your fellow runners.
