TEXAS TRAIL RUNNING FESTIVAL
ALL THE FUN STUFF:

Here are some highlights:

Your one-time registration payment gets you access to all the items listed below, ASIDE from food from the Food Trucks, Kayak Rentals and Camping.  You have to work out camping with Krause Springs or Grelle Recreation Area, but there is more than enough for everyone at this venue.

Krause Springs: is the race hub.  This place is incredible.  Beautiful teal green spring fed swimming hole.  Rope swings.  etc.  We’ve reserved an entire section right above the waterfalls!

Grelle Recreation Area: is the LCRA park, running adjacent to Krause Springs that contains the trail system where we are actually racing the majority of the miles on.  Fantastic single track, some flowing sections, a lot of technical running.  Short climbs, one decently long climb.  In and out of draws, along the lake for quite a lot of mileage.  Loads of fun.

Pay once, race 3 times: We have varying distances throughout the morn and afternoon and evening.  You can race however many of those slots you desire.

Food Trucks (Saturday only): including the Naughty Texan, Hey Diddle Diddle, Kona Ice Snow Cones & Treats, Wanderlust Coffee & Espresso.

Live Texas Music:  So far, we have three great bands playing off and on throughout the late morning, afternoon, and evening.  We will have a mix of folk, bluegrass, country, swing, and blues.  This year we are excited to enjoy the sounds of:
Wilkinson’s Quartet: wilkinsonsswing.com

Sophia Johnson: sophiajohnsonmusic.com

David McD & Friends: steelbettyband.com

Thanks also to Ian Lee & Big Cedar Fever! We’ll miss y’all this year.

Backyard Games Area:  Great spot to relax with friends between events.  Over a dozen choices of relaxed competitions.

Q&A With Big Time Trail Runners, Sponsored by Tailwind:  We will have some of the local heroes of trail running available for a Q&A throughout a couple times of the day.  They will be at your disposal to ask questions and gain insight that only experienced ultra, trail and mountain runners could offer.  It just so happens we have some of the best in the country right here amongst us!

Family & Kids Zone: Inflatables and competition for the kids and us "adult kids".

Little Bitties Zone: We have a tent setup for moms and/or dads with young children.  There will be toys for playing in the dirt and catching bugs, as well as crafts to keep their hands busy while mom or dad is finishing their race up.  Children will need to be accompanied though as there will not be any child care services available for the event.

Youth Trail Race:  This will be approximately a one mile course.  Adults race with their children for free.  $5 per youth runner.  Every finisher gets a medal, bib, and a toy of their choice.

Fun Contests for Real Deal Prizes:  Anyone any age can compete in fun contests throughout the day and win great prizes provided by Austin Trail Running Company and other sponsors.  We have a lot of potential contests brewing, but two of them are definitely going to be a Cowboy Boot Run and a Rope Swing contest.

Austin Trail Running Company:  They will be showcasing and selling all the latest and coolest trail running gear.  Available for purchase onsite.

Post Race Massage by Jaime Orf of Body Point Massage:  Jaime knows trail running better than any other massage therapist around, and she will be there offering free massages all weekend.

Finishers Awards:  Every finisher gets a really cool pendant medallion that you can wear with pride.  Those who finish the Trail Trifecta Challenge on Saturday will get a special larger medal with a beautiful ribbon creatively showcasing the springs of Krause Springs.

Overall Awards:  Top 3-5 overall and Top 1-3 masters will be eligible for a fun, hand-made metal Texas award!  These will be well-earned, and well-displayed.

Trifecta Trail Challenge:  Special award for the male and female who runs the fastest time with all 3 distances from the morning marathon, the afternoon 10km, and the evening 5km.
