The venue is called Colorado Bend State Park. Ok, heres how the camping works. Tejas Trails has resevered & paid for a certain amout of campsites near the Start/Finish. The 10$ Special Event Fee paid at registration includes parking, camping (only Tejas Trails designated sites) & extra park personnel/services. The Tejas Trails designated campsites/areas are first come, first serve. This system is similar to Capt'n Karl's Trail Series @ Colorado Bend.
If you prefer a private campsite, there are plenty of sites on the other side of the park. Please make reservations through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. These private campsites are all approx 5-15 minutes drive from the Start/Finish, maybe more with a lot of vehicles/traffic coming in on race morning. Remember, this is spring in Texas, a very desirable time to be in the woods. So reserve your private campsite asap, if you don't want to be near the Start/Finish at the Tejas Trails designated sites. The Tejas Trails designated campsites are reserved & paid for Friday & Saturday nights only! If you arrive earlier or stay later you will have to pay & reserve your accommodations independently through TPWD.
Also be aware, some of the Tejas Trails camping spots are right next to the race course, so you probably won't sleep much past the start of the event. However, this is where action is...fun to be close & support the race participants.
We also offer tent rental service which includes set up & tear down, so you can focus on the race & enjoying time with your fellow runners.
