Tejas Points We now have a point system for volunteers at any Tejas Trails race. For every hour you work a Tejas Trails race, you earn 1 point. These points can be redeemed for race entry fees at 1 point per dollar, such that 55 points would be worth the $55 entry at Wild Hare 50km. This system will start at Cactus Rose and is the responsibility of each volunteer to report their own hours. I dont want an aid station captain to simply put every person who worked an aid station all the hours that the station was open. Each person who worked, simply reports to me or Joyce the hours they worked at each race, when they are done working the race. These points cannot be traded or cashed in. They are good for a complete race entry only (no partial entry). We want to give something back to each person who helps us, but we do not want to be taken advantage of. This is not the easiest or most economical way to enter a race, just a means to give you some credit for what you do for us. Some of the JOBS that you can do: course marking, course cleanup and teardown, packet pickup, packet stuffing, aid station runner support, glow sticking, parking attendant, medical support, timing and data, chip collectors, medal and award presentation, trash pickup, loading and unloading equipment, tent construction and removal, and so on and so on. This is just the tip of the top.
