DNF, Quiting, Not-Finishing, Leaving the Course, Stopping, Timing Out
If you leave the race for any reason, you must TURN IN YOUR BIB. If we have your
BIB, then we know you have left the course.
The only exception is that you finish the race. We either have a finish time or we
have your BIB. |
Split Time Collection
Every aid station will be collecting your time as you come through.
They match your time to your BIB. So they must see your BIB to do this.
Your BIB must be visible and you must be visible. When large
groups pass through all at once, some people get missed in the
confusion. Make certain that your BIB# gets recorded. Please do
everything you can to insure that each station has your time as you
pass through. Locate the person writing the times and yell your BIB#
at them. We do the best we can to track your time as you progress through the
course. We do this for your safety first. This allows us to know
where you are and to find you quickly if you should disappear.
Another reason for the split time collection is to make certain that
every person runs the entire course. I will go back and check split
times between stations to insure that everyone runs the entire correct
route. It is easy to see when something is missed. And finally, I'll
post the split times on the web site so that everyone can see how
thier race evolved. Future runners like to use these splits to plan
their race. So please help us with this data collection. |
Finish Time
If you finish in a large group, it is wise to stop and make certain right
then that we have recorded your BIB# and time. I hate to see you
not get credit for a finish just because you finished in a crowd and
where inadvertantly missed. It is best to make certain |
Check-In
All runners must check in prior to starting (at the start line).
This allows us to know you are here to begin with. Picking up
your packet does not mean you started the race. We need to
know you are out there on the trails. That is what the pre-race check in is for.
This is very important. The park expects me to know this |
