Rocky Information
Drop Bags
a) Two drop bag locations: Park Road & Lodge.
b) Both locations can only be used by all runners.
c) We take the Park Road drops out at 6am on race morning, right after the 100mi start.
d) You can leave your drop bags at the Lodge the night before (or bring them early)
e) Do not leave any drop bags in the finish tent, including your Lodge drop bags. Leave them inside the lodge. We will put them out in the tent for you. They must be sorted and the tent made ready for many uses.
f) You will find all the drop bags lined up according to bib number. 50 mile and 100 mile drop bags will be in separate areas. Unmarked bags will also be separate.
g) Please keep these bags down to a reasonable size. No ice chests larger than 6 pack size, no styrofoam coolers, please don’t ask my crew to haul 3 large tubs of gear.
h) The Park Road drop bags can easily be picked up as you leave. You must drive past the station as you leave the park.
i) All drop bags must be labeled. Name, Bib#, & Lodge or DamRoad. If any of this information is missing, we will leave your drop bags at the lodge.
Crews
Crew support is ok at (Park Road), (Lone Star), and (Lodge). No crews are allowed at (Dam Road) or (Far Side). Parking is limited at (Park Road. Please provide no assistance to your runner except at the aid stations.
Parking
There is a large parking lot near the start. This is where all runners will park. Please do not park in the short road loop that will be the final approach to our finish line
Pacers
Pacers are allowed to enter any place after 60 miles. You can have as many pacers as you like, but only one pacer can run at a time with each runner. No mule-ing. Let the runner carry his own gear. If you are over 60, you can have pacers the entire 100 miles. The following is a link to a forum for runners and pacers to hook up. Pacer/Runner-Connection Forum
Dogs
please keep your dogs away from all aid stations and the main lodge. if must bring your dog, keep it on a leash.
Packet Pickup
Friday 2:00pm-7:00pm, Saturday 5:00am-7:00am at the Lodge
Most of the stuff that actually gets stuffed into the race packets does not show up until very late. For this reason, I cannot get packets ready until the last moment. So, the packets can only be distributed at the Lodge at the race site just before the race. The logistics of it all demand it. Sorry, no advance packets. Also, if you can, please try to pick your packet up on Friday. Race morning is available but very chaotic. Please leave the folks who cannot make it until then\ have less chaos by picking yours up on Friday if you can. Thanks.
Cutoffs
The 100 mile cutoff is 30 hours. But, I see no reason to stop any 50 mile runner while we are still supporting the 100 milers. The 50 milers can continue as long as the 100 milers are running. This means the 50 milers now have a 29 hour cutoff. I must also add an intermediate cutoff also. A runner cannot go out on the last loop after 6am. As in the past, I am a bit easy on the final cutoff, but the 6am cutoff is firm.
Aid Station Food & Drink
The aid stations begin with all the basics: water, gatorade, coke, salted items in pretzels and chips, sugars in candies, plus cookies, pb&j sandwiches, and other sich items that we find on sale as we buy these items for the race. Also, we usually find some fresh fruits such as oranges, bananas, and melons. Depending on the weather, we will put my cold stuff when its extra hot and hot stuff when its cold. After dark, we'll sit up stoves to start cooking soups, broths, hot drinks, and such.

RaceDoc
I like to put EVERYTHING into one document... for all those who never did see any of this online stuff. Problem is, most people won't see this until they arrive. A lot of this information is to help you plan your trip and this is virtually worthless the day before the race. Anyway, You'll get a copy in your race packet but it is no more and no less than everthing I have here on line... minus the pictures.
Volunteer
You have heard this a million times, but it becomes more apparent when you get closer to the event... we cannot put this event on without volunteers. They really are the key to the quality and safety of this event. We get great help and there is always a need for more. If you want to give us an hour or a week, there is something we can use you for. we have quite a few small jobs and some pretty large one. If you want to help, an advance word is helpful so we can plan you in. But even if you just show up, we may also find something for you to do. And Thanks for helping.
